Atletico strikes quickly – Kroos’ goal revives hopes again

Coach Diego Simeone’s team looked much better in the match and took the lead in the 18th minute. Once again, Real Madrid did not attack decisively enough, as Saul Niguez’s cross from the left side reached Griezmann in the center of the penalty area. The Frenchman got up and headed off. As Atletico held firm, the visitors continued to have a difficult time – and they tried again from distance, as Rudiger’s shot from 25 meters missed the target (70th).
