Russian club teams as well as the Russian national team are not represented in FIFA 23, Electronic Arts confirmed to Eurogamer.
This is not entirely surprising as teams have already been removed in FIFA 22 after the Russian attack on Ukraine. In FIFA 23, they weren’t there from the start.
Solidarity with Ukraine
“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and, like many voices in the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine,” it said in a statement.
“In agreement with our partners FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports will not add the Russian national team or Russian clubs to FIFA 23.”

Electronic Arts announced in March that it would stop selling all games and content in Russia and Belarus. This was followed by the ban on Russian teams and the discontinuation of displaying maps related to Russia in Ultimate Team.
FIFA 23 will be released on September 30, 2022 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Google Stadia.
