Saarbrucken In the Saarland Football Cup, the candidates all won their turn in 16 matches without any problems. The leader of the third division, Elversberg, won 6-0 on Wednesday evening against the League Club S.

If the top two favourites meet in the final next year and also end up in the top four in the third tier and thus automatically qualify for the DFB Cup (which is entirely possible), then there could be an initial bid in the Saarland Cup. As confirmed by the Federation, a date will then be set for the third-place match between the semi-finalists and the losers to determine the participant in the German Football Association Cup who qualified through the cup competition.

In addition to SVE and FCS, FV Diefflen, SV Auersmacher, FV Eppelborn, SV Bliesmenge-Bolchen and SV Merchweiler also reached the quarter-finals. FC Homburg will play in the regional league in Hellas Bildstock on 8 November. The quarter-final draw will take place on Sunday at 4.30pm in Blissing.
