Empty bellies from Frankfurt on European flights: There are currently no catering options for Lufthansa Economy Class passengers. Gate Gourmet is liable for the failure of a fee-based service with food and drink, Spiegel reported. They have problems with recruitment.
Lufthansa in Frankfurt, at the request of the AWP, said that business class passengers, like all guests on long-haul flights, receive their meals. For European flights affected by cancellation, there is only one bottle of water in the lowest booking class.
Now there is a reward for staying healthy
Swiss parent company Lufthansa has sold its catering division LSG Skychefs to Gategroup, to which Gate Gourmet belongs. A spokesman said there were wage cuts and salary issues for some workers during the transition period.
There is currently a shortage of specially trained drivers to bring food to the plane. And in order to lose even fewer employees, the catering operator at the Frankfurt station offered a “summer bonus” of 250 euros to all employees who took a maximum of one day of sick leave in April. (in Euro)
