Last March, things suddenly happened very quickly. German private broadcaster RTL sold one of its icons: Pop Titan Dieter Bohlin (67) was forced to leave the field, Because the station wants to focus on families as viewers in the future.
His jury spot on the casting program “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” was awarded to Thomas Gottschalk (70) without further ado. But fans miss the giant pop with its funny, dry, quick-witted, and sometimes over-the-target quotes on screen. They click on his social media channels with the question of when he will appear on TV again. Now the former juror is finally making a statement on the matter. It’ll take some time, as he demonstrates in an Instagram video.
“Number one: I still have a long contract with RTL,” Bohlin said. “I can’t do anything else.” It seems his hands are simply still tied to deal with new TV projects.
Dieter Bohlin wants to rest a little longer
But there is another reason, he continues. Second: I just want to relax for a little longer. Bohlin tells his fans that he wants to drive his express home through Mallorca. Possibly also via Menorca.
Anyway, Dieter Bohlin looks very comfortable in the video clip in which he wears black sunglasses. “Relax a little,” he tells his fans. “The dieter should rest, too.” (Buff)
Dieter Bohlin now speaks: “A revolutionary like me no longer has a job there”(00:50)
