Google has closed several security vulnerabilities in its Chrome web browser. This includes a security vulnerability that is already being actively exploited, as reported by the IT magazine “heise Online”.

Therefore, users of Chrome or programs built on it such as Microsoft Edge or Opera should update their browser urgently. This applies to Windows, macOS (Apple), and Linux PC operating systems.

According to Google, the vulnerability that has already been attacked is related to “accessing memory beyond intended limits in the Javascript V8 engine.”

There is also the possibility of an attack using manipulated websites, which could also be used to abuse the vulnerability in V8.

A reward of $16,000 is offered to anyone who discovers the vulnerability

The third security vulnerability also relates to the V8 engine, as the website “heise online” wrote. The discoverer of the vulnerability will receive a reward of $16,000 from Google U.S. dollar. There is no specific information about the fourth vulnerability.

Just a few days ago, Google released an update to its web browser, closing a security vulnerability that experts rated as “highly severe.”

The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) had warned against using old versions of the Chrome browser, and advised people to update the browser immediately.

How to update Google Chrome

In most cases, Chrome updates automatically as soon as users close and reopen the browser. Updates can also be done manually.

Where to see the current version number and how to start manual browser update T-Online explains here Step by Step.
