Expanding horizons: ChatGPT knows future events until April 2023. More innovations were announced at “OpenAI DevDay.”

The popular AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT will be informed of events until April this year. So far, the world’s knowledge of the program ended in September 2021.
Developer OpenAI will strive to never fall behind again. Its president, Sam Altman, promised as much on Monday at OpenAI DevDay, the company’s first developer conference in San Francisco.
Altman, an entrepreneur and programmer, said they were at least as bothered by the previous restrictions as users were. The timeliness of information should be improved in the future.

Shortly before the OpenAI announcement, tech billionaire Elon Musk introduced a chatbot from his artificial intelligence company X.AI, which can access new information from internet platform X (formerly Twitter), which he also owns.
Longer orders are possible
According to OpenAI, about 100 million users access ChatGPT every week.
The chatbot now runs on the new generation AI technology called “GPT-4 Turbo” that OpenAI introduced on Monday. With the introduction of the new GPT version, OpenAI is also lowering its usage rates for developers – to one US cent per 1,000 requests and three cents per 1,000 answers.
GPT-4 Turbo can also accept much longer requests than before.
Set up your own AI-powered chatbots
Other innovations include the ability to more easily create specialized chatbots for individual tasks. This could be, for example, about advice on removing stains from laundry or explaining the rules of board games.
OpenAI calls these assistants GPTs, and according to Altman, they can be programmed using (natural) language alone.
OpenAI reportedly wants to share revenue with authors
Altman created a chatbot with just a few sentences on stage at OpenAI’s first developer conference to offer advice to startup founders.
This feature could undermine the business of companies that specialize in customizing ChatGPT for specific applications. Meanwhile, Altman announced that OpenAI will share its revenue with the authors of the “most widely used and useful” GPTs. There should be more details on this later.
AI chatbots like ChatGPT can formulate text at a human linguistic level, but without understanding the slightest thing about the content.
The principle behind this is that a computer program can estimate, word for word, how a sentence should continue. These language models (LLM) are learned using vast amounts of information, and copyright violations are said to have occurred on various occasions.
The release of ChatGPT at the end of 2022 created a global buzz around artificial intelligence.
