The camp of Jensen takes third place

The nationwide “ADAC Camper of the Year” finale took place this past weekend at the world’s largest camping trade fair, the Caravan Salon. 7 participants qualified for the final in Düsseldorf in the regional preliminary rounds during the #ADAC #Camping #Days in June or via wildcard.

1st place went to car mechatronics technician #26-year-old Denis Piccito from Karlsruhe, who won a 14-day camping trip across the USA as well as the title. Oliver and Patricia Schnitsk of Grevenbroich took second place, which ties in with a six-day camping holiday on the Costa Brava. Third, it was Karl Joseph and Connie Dobgen from Yuzen in Hesse, who can look forward to 6 days of camping at the #Euro #Parcs Resort.

The finalists had to prove their buggy qualities in 6 disciplines. Comprehensive skills were required. In the first driving exercise, the goal was to position the Parcours so tight that the #campervan could still fit them with as little distance as possible. In the second test, campers had to stop neatly with the front wheel resting on a sticky note. In the third drive system, the car had to be placed on slopes at the best time.

Typical and atypical problems that one can encounter at a camp site have also been simulated in competitions. In ‘Challenge #Challenge’, the finalists estimated the weight of the gas cylinder and had to pitch tents and deckchairs for a limited time.
