Young Cooper attacked
He was there completely alone until he felt someone approaching him from behind. “I thought someone wanted to take a picture of me or something. When I turned, I was suddenly pressed against the railing. When I looked down, I saw a knife,” Cooper recalls.
According to a representative of A Star Is Born, the blade was approximately four inches long. “It occurred to me that this knife saw a lot,” Bradley Cooper said. During the attack, Cooper was still wearing his headphones: “I couldn’t hear anything but loud music.” It was like the soundtrack to what happened. “I just remember looking into the man’s eye for a moment and was terrified of how young he was,” says the Hollywood star.
Bradley Cooper stopped the cops
When the subway stopped at that moment, Cooper instinctively ran and jumped out of the car. “Then I jumped over the turnstile and hid. The guy in front of me ran to the seventh avenue exit. I photographed him twice with the cell phone,” he continues.
Shortly thereafter, he stopped two police officers in a patrol car and showed them a picture of the man. The officers initially asked if I was injured: “When I said no, they wanted me to make sure I didn’t have any stab wounds. Because it often happens that the casualty is in shock and doesn’t even notice the pain.” Fortunately, Cooper was unharmed. Instead of coming to the station, he took the following subway: “I had to bring my daughter!” (cti/bsn)
