After four matches without a win, Bayern Munich beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 at the start of the eighth round of the Bundesliga and caused another setback for Gerardo Siwan.
The Swiss coach’s team disaster began early in Munich. Three minutes later, Leroy Sane completed an attack by Jamal Musiyala with a well-placed shot. 19-year-old German international Mosyala was the standout figure in the first half, because after 15 minutes his shot made it 2-0, with Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky slamming into the near corner. Five minutes before the end of the first half, Musiala gave the ball to striker Sadio Mane, who fired a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area.
The 30-year-old Senegalese celebrated for the second time in the second half, but his goal was disallowed after a foul by defender Matthijs de Ligt after video studies. But in the final stages, Thomas Muller scored Bayern’s fourth goal, which at least temporarily moved to second place.
Meanwhile, Leverkusen have not won in the Bundesliga in four games and are on the ground of a barrage of points with just five points. The 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League seems like the only event in a chaotic season so far.
Bayern Munich – Leverkusen 4: 0 (3: 0). – Portals: 3. Sane 1-0. 17. Musila 2-0. 39. Mane 3-0. 84. Muller 4: 0.
