Bitcoin will cement its position as the new gold

Deputy Attorney General Lisa O’Monaco unveiled a new initiative to combat crypto-crime on October 6: NCET.

6 October Resigned United StateMinistry of Justice New initiative National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team (NCET). The goal is to investigate and prosecute crimes in which cryptocurrencies have been used. The Vice President of the United States oversees the NCET InitiativeAttorney General Kenneth A. Paulette Jr. will take over the position. Under his leadership, various departments will pool their specialized knowledge and experience with cryptocurrencies. However, the team will not only accompany the criminal proceedings and help with clarification. Cryptocurrencies must also be traced and retrieved.

Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco commented on the NCET Initiative as follows in the US Department of Justice notice:

Today we are launching NCET to benefit from the Ministry’s expertise in the field of cyber money laundering. By doing so, we can enhance our ability to degrade the financial institutions that enable criminal actors to thrive through the misuse of cryptocurrency platforms.

She said the department must adapt to advances in technology. This is the only way to prevent abuse on relevant platforms. US Attorney Paulette adds:

The Criminal Justice Department is already a leader in the investigation and prosecution of criminal misuse of cryptocurrency. NCET will build on this leadership role. Because we will collect and harmonize the specialized knowledge of the entire department in this ever-evolving field. Other purposes of NCET

In addition to pursuing its own cases, the National Information Technology Center will provide nationwide support for criminal proceedings. Other purposes include:

• Investigate and prosecute anti-cryptocurrency cases as an illegal tool.
• Establish strategic priorities for crypto-related investigations and law enforcement.
• Develop and maintain relationships with state, local and international law enforcement agencies.
• Training and advice for prosecutors and law enforcement agencies.
• Better coordination and more efficient exchange of evidence to make crypto-related investigations more efficient.
