FC Basel retracts against HSV
A week before the start of the season, Basel and Zurich were not in great shape. Bayern fall 1:5 to Hamburg SV, champion FCZ lose to Stuttgart 2:3.

A week before the start of the season, FC Basel and FC Zurich were not ready yet. Bayern suffered a serious setback before the tournament kicked off on Saturday against Winterthur, losing 5-1 to Hamburg in their penultimate friendly match.
Newcomer Zaki Amdouni put the Baslers ahead from the penalty spot in front of 4,657 spectators at St. Jacob’s Park, but HSV immediately hit back. With three goals in the space of 16 minutes by Benes, Reiss and Glatzel, the German second-tier side turned the game around. In the end it was 5:1 for North Germany, with St. Gallen’s Miro Moheim on the field for an hour.

FCZ also took an early lead against Stuttgart in a friendly in Friedrichshafen thanks to Willy Gunonto. It is still unclear how long the Italy international will continue to look for goals for the champions. But the whirlwind is hitting Zurich again now, at least in a test kick.
But in the middle of the second half, the Bundesliga club turned the match, and the Frenchman Noiro Ahmada scored two goals. Aiyegun Tosin cut FCZ’s lead in the 79th minute. This is Zurich’s first defeat this season. The team won the first six matches under Breitnerreiter’s successor Franco Voda, but mainly against lower-tier competitors.
YB tested twice on Saturday: After Schaffhausen was sent off the field 7-0, it finished 1-1 in front of Fürth. (red)
