The women’s teams of FC Barcelona and Sevilla are no longer allowed to participate in the Spanish Cup competition this season. The association handed down the harsh punishment on Tuesday.
With the title being defended in the Copa de la Reina, it will no longer be possible for Barcelona to get around Alexia Potellas according to RFEF.

The reason for the exclusion of FC Barcelona and Sevilla from the Queen’s national cup, the Copa de la Reina, has been explained. The Football Association’s arbitration panel found both Champions League finalists Barcelona and Sevilla guilty of sending a player onto the field in their last matches who was still suspended due to previous penalties.
The result: FC Barcelona’s wins over Osasuna (9-0) and Sevilla’s win over Villarreal (1-0) in the Round of 16 almost two weeks ago were considered defeats. The Russian Football Union announced this in an official statement on Tuesday.
However, decisions can be appealed. Sport reports that the defending champions Barcelona around the world currently injured footballer Alexia Potellas has already announced his desire to appeal.
