Carlo Janca is on the verge of returning to the World Cup: After Christmas, the Graubünden veteran plans a 3-speed start in Valtellina.
After back problems and Covid disease, the 2021/202 alpine season for Carlo Janca could start with a significant delay. The 35-year-old will travel to Bormio with 13 of his Swiss Ski teammates these days, where 3 races will be on the program from Tuesday.
Graubünden’s last World Cup match will be 297 days before next Tuesday. On March 6, 2021, he finished 24th in a downhill race at Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
In the previous year, things did not go smoothly at Bormio
Valtellina as the setting for his return is emotionally challenging for the following reasons: Janka’s memories of the Stilfserjoch slope are not good. For example, a year ago he landed after just 20 seconds of driving when he landed in a jump and had to pay attention to the Super-G that day.
