The Argon Audio Forte A4 is popular – as the MK2 in the name proves. Because it is already the second generation of built-in active speakers. We could actually hear it in the test report and were impressed with the great bass and precise overall tuning. At HiFi Klubben, a pair is currently €100 cheaper.
Argon Audio Forte A4 MK2: The Active Speaker That Can Do It All?
First of all: what characterizes active speakers? Exactly, many connection options. With the Argon Audio Forte A4 MK2, for example, you’ll find an AUX input with a pre-amplifier—in other words, you can connect your record player. But there are also digital connections, and above all the HDMI socket. So you can simply connect active speakers to your TV and quickly replace the soundbar.
Which makes sense, since we’re big fans of the sound in our test lab. For the small size, you get a balanced sound that meets hi-fi requirements. The amount of bass these small shelf speakers can extract is also compelling. But if that’s not enough for you, there is a built-in connection that you can use to power an external subwoofer.
Finally, the Argon Audio Forte A4 MK2 got a good 8.3 as the final score in our test.
We liked it about the active speakers—not too much
- Powerful bass and high dynamics combined with volume
- Good speech clarity
- High quality
- Voices can sound a little weak
- No in-box operation possible
- No streaming due to no internet connection
That’s why you should get the offer from HiFi Klubben now
Are you looking for speakers that are fun for both music and TV and can display decent details? So you are right here. Active speakers can easily replace tweeters, and thanks to HiFi Klubben’s offering, they cost no more than mid-priced speakers. Because instead of around 600 euros, the Argon Audio Forte A4 MK2 is currently on sale at around 500 euros a pair.
