Over the course of 30 years, Peter Schroksnadel has embodied the ultimate motivational figure in the eyes of many Swiss skate enthusiasts. Before the rogue businessman from Innsbruck became president of the Austrian Ski Association in 1990, Switzerland was the number one country in the Alps. But Schröcksi heralded a major turning point with some revolutionary ideas and won the Nations Cup 30 times in a row with Ösis.
At this point, the man with the title of Professor is repeatedly provoked with eloquent sayings. At the 2019 World Cup in Arhe, the Austrian general in the immediate vicinity of the Swiss ski chief Urs Lehmann declared in the end zone: “When the day comes when you and the Swiss win the Nations Cup in front of us, I will stop immediately …”
Two years later, the 80-year-old already quit ÖSV after Switzerland won the Nations Cup twice in a row. Shortly before that, Ski stabbed Switzerland for the last time in the back of the FIS president’s election – although he had promised Urs Lehmann to vote in advance, Schrucksnadel eventually chose Johan Elias. Shortly thereafter, the British appointed the Austrian as Vice-President.

And in this role, Schröcksnadel is now taking the side of a Swiss racing driver. Peter the Elder has been an official member of the Ramon Zenhäusern fan club in Bürchen for a few months. “As Schröcksnadel has been the main shareholder of the Saas-Fee mountain railway since 2018, we have made him a life member of the Ramon Ambassadors Summer Saas-Fee fan club,” says former Swiss ski manager Joseph Zenhausrn (no relation to Ramon).
To Ramon Zenhäusern’s great delight, Schröcksnadel quickly took a bite. The last Olympic slalom silver medalist told Blake, “It’s a great honor to have such an extraordinary personality as Peter Schroksnadel belong to my fan club.” Ramon asserts that he was given preferential treatment by the Tyroleans: “Chroki once told me that I should only call him if I needed something.”
