The new Italian national airline is significantly different from its predecessor, Alitalia. Now the first aircraft has been painted in the new design.
On December 10 he flew from Rome to Ostrava. Since then, an Airbus A320 with registration number EI-DTE has been standing at the city airport in the eastern Czech Republic wearing new clothes. ITA Airways chose him to be the first to wear the new look.
On Thursday evening (December 23), the plane returned to its base in Rome and was repainted. The first photos show one thing: The The emergence of the new Italian national airline is refreshing and brave. The shell features the familiar blue metallic color of the Italy national football team jerseys. The ITA Airways sticker is embossed on the front and the logo on the white engines. The Italian tricolor runs along the trailing edge of the Airbus A320’s tail unit.
An athlete rather than a poet
The Airbus A320 with registration EI-DTE was already in use for Alitalia. At that time it was named after the Renaissance poet Francesco Petrarca. In the future it will be called Paolo Rossi – in honor of the football legend who passed away in 2020. ITA Airlines I decided to name all the planes after Italian athletes.
In the photo gallery above, you can see photos of ITA Airways’ first Airbus A320 in the new colours.
