Swiss-American actress illegally received a disability pension
Q’orianka Kilcher was unable to work due to an injury and was receiving a disability pension. However, she was involved in a series – the American actress with Swiss roots must now respond in court.
Q’orianka Kilcher (32 years old) became world famous in 2005 for her role in “The New World” in the movie “Pocahontas”. The American, who was born in Germany and has roots in Switzerland, sustained injuries to her neck and shoulders while filming in 2019. Since then, she has received a disability pension of around CHF95,000.
The state of California is now investigating the actress, according to Vanity magazine. Investigators found that she has been working on “Yellowstone” since 2020, despite her certified disability.
Kilcher is a member of the Oscar Academy
Kilcher denied the allegations through her attorney and pleaded not guilty. However, she will have to respond in court on August 7.
Q’orianka Kilcher is the granddaughter of mountaineer Ray Jennet († 48), and a Geneva-born Swiss-American died on Mount Everest in 1979. Kilcher’s mother immigrated to Hawaii with her daughter, where Q’orianka Kilcher also grew up. Today, the actress lives in Los Angeles and is part of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which awards Academy Awards annually. (grb)
