A young man pushed a woman in front of a subway last night. Thanks to the metro driver’s emergency stop, the woman was unharmed.

According to media reports, a woman was pushed in front of an oncoming metro train in Brussels. According to information from the Belga news agency late Friday evening, a young man was said to have pushed the woman in the back when a metro train approached.

The metro driver started an emergency stop and did not catch the victim. A spokeswoman for the responsible transport company confirmed to the news agency that a person was found on the rails but was quickly pulled to the platform. Both drivers and victims are in shock. According to the information, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has not yet been able to comment on the incident.

As reported by the daily Dernière Heure / Les Sports, a video has been circulated on the Internet showing the crime. They appear to be CCTV footage captured from a screen. The scenes reportedly took place around 7:45 p.m. at a metro station in the heart of downtown. Belga stated that traffic was suspended in the affected area until 8:15 pm.
