– Regensdorf makes way for cyclists and pedestrians
The bike path and sidewalk near Ostring will be expanded. The 70-meter extension is just the beginning of the cycle track network planned in Regensdorf.
Once the new residential project in Stockenhof is completed, Regensdorf will grow by 400 apartments. The first tenants will move in the fall of 2023. Once Rägipark, the residential construction project on the former Studer Revox site at Regensdorf Train Station, is also ready to move into, another 200 apartments will be added. That should be so far in 2024. That means hundreds of newcomers will walk to the train station in the morning and go shopping or jogging in the evening. Many will use the bike. Additional large-scale developments such as the Zwhatt-Quartier in the Bahnhof Nord development area will ensure further growth over the next few years. However, today’s network of bicycles and pedestrian paths is not designed for this purpose. The canton is now expanding the bike path and pedestrian path in Ostereng, the cantonal road under the railway.
