BERLIN (AP) – Matthew Leggy bids farewell to Hertha B.Sc. and Bundesliga after four years.
The 30-year-old Australian, whose contract with the Berliners expires at the end of June, returns to his native Melbourne, according to “Kicker”. The midfielder has signed a three-year deal with Melbourne City FC, the current leaders of the Australian A-League. No confirmation has been received from the club so far.
The 63-time national player sacked FC Ingolstadt from the then-Bundesliga in 2017 for three million euros. Prior to that, Leggy, who joined Manchengladbach from Adelaide United in 2011, was under contract with FSV Frankfurt and played a total of 139 Bundesliga games and 91 games in the second division in Germany.
