Arnaud Chotemps wins the 53rd Engadin Skimarathon title. Jason Ruich is the third, Roman Forger is the fifth.

For the first time since 2015, the winner of the Engadin Skimarathon is not from Switzerland. In the 53rd edition of the traditional event, France celebrated a double victory. Arnaud Chautemps set off ahead of compatriot Tom Mancini after 1:33:09. With five riders in the top ten, the French managed to convince overall. Third place Jason Roych ensured Switzerland was still on the podium after five straight wins.

Romain Forger, who crossed the finish line as a professional for the last time in a S-chanf, could catch up with record winner Albert Geiger on Sunday. Indeed, the man from Uri was in a good position before the final sprint, but in the end he had to settle for fifth place. Meanwhile, Dario Colonna has shown that although he has retired, he is not yet on the scrap heap. The man from Graubünden – like four-time winner Forger – finished 14th, the day after his 37th birthday.

Weru was stunned

Thanks to Julianna Wero, there was a local winner to celebrate among the women. The 23-year-old Team C athlete from Zernez celebrated an upset individual victory. Last year’s winner Nadja Kalin lost 28 seconds in second place. Anya Weber completed the podium.
